Jumio partners with Tutorfair to fast-track new tutor registration from weeks to minutes.
4th November 2015, London, UK. Jumio, Inc. – the fast growing online and mobile credentials management company today announced a partnership with Tutorfair, an innovative online sharing economy platform that matches tutors with parents looking for educational support for their children.
Launched in 2013 and with a 400% year on year growth, Tutorfair helps parents find tutors to help their children with academic subjects, arts, life skills and special educational needs; and for every student who pays, they give tutoring to a child who can’t afford it.
Jumio’s online ID document authentication solution, Netverify, is now live in the Tutorfair site so that a tutor’s identity can be easily and quickly verified before they tutor children. Prior to their relationship with Jumio, Tutorfair had to manually check passports and other government-issued photo ID before allowing a new tutor’s profile to go live on the Tutorfair website. With this process taking up to six weeks, it was frustrating for potential tutors, parents and for Tutorfair themselves.
Now when tutors register with Tutorfair, they are asked to use their device camera to scan their passport, driving licence or ID card. Jumio’s Netverify® then authenticates the ID document by determining that it is a bonafide, un-manipulated and legitimate government-issued ID. The document authentication takes less than two minutes and Tutorfair’s overall tutor approval process that previously took up to six weeks, can now take as little as 20 minutes.
